Recipe: Turmeric and cinnamon 'gold milk' latte

This winter, support your mind and body with our soothing turmeric and cinnamon "gold milk" latte.

Its blend of spices warms you from the inside out and contributes to your plant count.

As an added bonus, curcumin — the active compound in turmeric — contains powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

If you usually reach for coffee first thing, this could be a great swap to help ease you into the day feeling calmer and less stressed.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups unsweetened milk of your choice

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • pinch of ground cinnamon

  • pinch of ground ginger

  • pinch of black pepper

  • pinch of ground cloves

  • pinch of ground nutmeg

  • 1 tsp honey

Method

1. Start by heating the milk of your choice and all ingredients except the honey in a saucepan.

2. Bring the milk to a boil and then simmer for 7–8 minutes.

3. Pour into a mug and top with an extra pinch of cinnamon, then stir in the honey.
